Why Do I Like The Kyani Health Triangle?

Someone sent me the following article in the email today. As I was reading it I realized it is all wonderful to know about all these benefits but how do I get this into my body every single day? And then I realized that the Kyani Health Triangle makes it so easy to take it all in one ounce. However, variety is the spice of life and we can still include all these other vegetables and fruits mentioned in the article when we cook ourselves. What I have found in using the Kyani Triangle of Health is I don’t crave for any junk food and being diabetic, I am able to stick to my portion size which is crucial for a diabetic. Additionally, I have found that my body has become more limber and I am able to do yoga which I could not do for almost 3 years.





The immune system is one of the most incredible features of the human body and it is important we do everything we can to look after it. It protects us from millions of microbes and bacteria which would otherwise invade our body and destroy it from the inside. It also heals cuts, expels infections and helps us process food by eliminating the bad bacteria that the body doesn’t need. We don’t have to do anything special to eliminate these harmful elements, because the immune system works around the clock to do it for us.

What Is The Immune System?

The immune system is an extremely complicated mix of cells, organs and tissues that interact with each other to expel harmful pathogens and other foreign substances from the body. It also helps remove byproducts of cell activity and destroys infected cells. Many different parts of the body contribute to the immune system, including the spleen, the lymph nodes, white blood cells, antibodies and bone marrow, and the interactions are so complex it is virtually impossible to understand them all.

Many of the best indicators we have of the power of the immune system are displayed when it fails us, in even the smallest way. Just one missed bacteria can cause the body to fall ill or infected. If the immune system was not working at all, then we would develop problems every second, we would contract food poisoning every time we ate and countless issues from the air that we breathe. Without it, we would not last very long at all.

How Can You Protect Your Immune System?

There are a number of ways you can protect your immune system, and many of them relate to lifestyle choices as well as diet. Smoking, excessive drinking and sleep deprivation can all lower our body’s defenses so they should be avoided, and you should take steps to avoid infection by sanitizing your hands when you touch food or dirty surfaces. This will help ensure that the immune system isn’t given extra, unnecessary work to do, and minimizes the likelihood of harmful bacteria finding their way through your defenses.

There are, however, a number of foods we can add to our diet which can help boost the immune system’s ability to do its job. Here are ten of the very best:

1. Citrus Fruits

As mentioned earlier, white blood cells are one of the key components of the immune system. They are one of the body’s main defenses against infection and invasion, so the body needs to have enough at all times. Vitamin C is thought to increase the production of white blood cells, and citrus fruits are packed full of it. Your body neither produces vitamin C itself, or stores reserves of it for future use, which means you constantly have to top up. Daily intake of citrus fruit is one of the best ways you can do this, and they are so versatile, it’s possible to squeeze them into nearly every meal, or juice them into a drink.

2. Red Bell Peppers

Speaking of vitamin C, one of the best ways you can add some more to your diet is via Red Bell Peppers. In fact, while citrus fruit are the more widely recognized provider of this key compound, red peppers actually contain twice as much vitamin C than a lemon or orange, pound for pound. Adding red bell peppers to your stir fries and sandwiches are a great way of boosting your immune system.

3. Spinach

Spinach contains a number of compounds which can promote a healthy immune system, including beta-carotene and numerous antioxidants that help prevent cell damage inside the body, which is one of the immune system’s most important jobs. It is another great provider of vitamin C, although you should try to eat fresh and raw if possible to ensure you benefit from all its nutrients. After all, Popeye eats it straight out of a can and how often have you seen him complain that he has the flu?

4. Yogurt

Yogurts can be a useful immune system booster and you try and buy ones which have ‘live and active cultures’ written on the labels. Research by the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that these living organisms (or ‘friendly bacteria) can stimulate your immune system to help fight disease. Yogurt also contains plenty of Vitamin D, which has more recently been found to play an important role in the promotion of a healthy immune system. 

5. Almonds


Vitamin E is sometimes overlooked in comparison to vitamin C, but it also plays an important role in the promotion of a healthy immune system because it is another powerful antioxidant. All nuts are full of vitamin E, but almonds are a particularly great source – just half a cup will provide pretty much all of your recommended daily amount. Keep a bag of trail mix handy and eating even a handful a day can make a difference.


6. Garlic

Garlic is used everywhere and with good reason. Not only is it a tasty addition to any dish, it is also an absolute goldmine of health benefits. Its success in fighting infections has been recognized for many centuries, and it seems it can help your immune system as well. It is an antiseptic, anti-fungal and a natural detoxicant – all of which make it a fantastic ally of your immune system.

7. Turmeric

Joining garlic as a super food with multiple health benefits is turmeric. Its bright yellow color is provided by high concentrations of curcumin, which is a natural anti-viral and anti-inflammatory. Inflammation is the cause of many of the most chronic and harmful diseases that can effect you, and turmeric is a great way to supercharge your immune system’s defenses against them. It helps that it’s delicious too!

8. Broccoli

Broccoli provides your body with a war chest of essential vitamins that it can use in combination to fight disease and infection. It contains an abundance of vitamins A, C and E as well as a number of antioxidants, all best preserved if you cook it as little as possible (much like spinach) so try not to boil it into oblivion. Lightly steaming or roasting them is a much better option, unless you don’t mind eating them raw.

9. Ginger


Like garlic, ginger has been used as a healer by many cultures going back centuries. The primary reason for this is its key component gingerol, which can help control the growth of numerous bacteria and nasty microbes. This means it provides an effective fillip for your body’s defense mechanisms against infection and disease.

10. Green Tea


Both green and black tea are key providers of flavanoids, another of nature’s most effective antioxidants. However, green tea gets a second check mark for being packed full of another powerful antioxidant – epigallocatetchin gallate, more commonly shortened to EGCG. EGCG present in black tea is destroyed during fermentation but green tea is steamed during production, so levels of this helpful compound are maintained. As an additional bonus, it also contains L-theanine, a product which helps produce germ fighting mechanisms with the body. It’s great for the immune system, although it does contain caffeine so don’t drink gallons of it.

Everything in life we do becomes a habit, knowingly or unknowingly. Therefore, it is no surprise that even the way we think becomes a habit. There was a time when I used to say “I don’t like to be ritualistic”. Ritual actually means an “observance of set forms in public worship”.  First of all, if you observe Nature, there seems to be an order and system in life. However, compared to other living forms, as human beings of the highest order of living forms, we are endowed with an intelligence that gives us a FREEDOM OF CHOICE  to live our lives in a divine way. It requires us to think positively to live a divine life which means making a conscious choice. Once we have determined our choice it still requires a lot of practice to make it a habit. Forgiveness is an important virtue to inculcate in our self development.

As I was listening carefully to Louise L. Hay on the topic of Forgiveness I was so impressed I decided to share it verbatim here in my blog. I had to write down the affirmations on Forgiveness she suggests 24:24 mins into the audio book.

The concept of forgiveness looked so practical in terms of living a joyous fulfilling life. Keeping a positive mind is like having a pure mind where the thoughts are flowing freely in all serenity and purity. Thoughts are energy and a mind that is polluted with negativity prevents the flow of that energy and gets us stuck in our thinking creatively and makes us stagnant. You can create your own list of affirmations that you could practice on forgiveness but I liked the ones Louise L. Hay said that I decided to share it here on my blog.

So here is the transcript of what she said in her audio book on Forgiveness:


You can never be free of bitterness as long as you hold unforgiving thoughts. How can you be happy in this moment if you continue to choose to think angry and resentful thoughts?

Thoughts of bitterness cannot create JOY, no matter how justified you feel you are, no matter what they did, if you insist on holding on to the past, then you will never be free.

Forgiveness of yourself and of others will release you from the prison of the past. When you feel that you are stuck in some situation, or when your affirmations are not working, it usually means there is some more forgiving to be done.

When you do not flow freely with life in the present moment it usually means you are holding on to a past moment. It can be regret, sadness, hurt, fear, guilt, blame , anger, resentment and sometimes a desire for revenge. Each one of these states comes from a space of unforgiveness, a refusal to let go and to come into the present moment.

ONLY IN THE PRESENT MOMENT CAN YOU CREATE YOUR FUTURE. If you are holding on to the past, you cannot BE IN THE PRESENT. It is only in this NOW MOMENT that your thoughts and words are POWERFUL, so you really don’t want to waste your current thoughts to continue to create your FUTURE from the garbage of the past. When you blame another, you give your own power away because you are placing the responsibility for your feelings on someone else.

People in our lives behave in ways that trigger uncomfortable responses in us. However, they did not get into our minds to create the buttons that have been pushed. Taking responsibility for our own feelings and reactions is mastering our ability to respond. In other words we learn to consciously choose rather than to simply react. Forgiveness is usually a tricky and confusing concept for many people.

There is a difference between forgiveness and acceptance.

Forgiveness does not mean that you condone their behavior and the act of forgiveness really takes place in your own mind. The reality of the act of forgiveness has nothing to do with the other person.

It has to do with setting ourselves free from holding on to the pain.

It is simply an act of releasing yourself from the negative energy.

Forgiveness also does not mean allowing the painful actions and hurtful behaviors from the other person to continue in your life.

Sometimes forgiveness means “letting go”.

You forgive them and release them.

Taking a stand and setting a healthy boundary is often the most loving thing you can do not only for yourself but for the other person as well.

You only live in the “NOW” and you can choose to think thoughts that make you feel good RIGHT NOW.

You can choose to practice to thinking thoughts that create a positive today and a positive tomorrow. KNOW

You are creating positive thinking habits that will serve you well FOREVER.


~ The door to my heart opens inward.

~ I move thru forgiveness to Love.

~ As I change my thoughts, the world around me changes.

~ The past is over so it has NO POWER NOW.

~ The thoughts of THIS MOMENT create my FUTURE.

~ It is no fun being a victim.

~ I refuse to be helpless any more.

~ I claim my OWN POWER.

~ I give myself the gift of FREEDOM from the past and move with JOY into the NOW.

~ There is no problem too big or too small that it cannot be solved with LOVE.

~ I am ready to be healed.

~ I am willing to forgive and  ALL IS WELL.

~ I know that old negative patterns no longer limit me.

~ I let them go with ease.

~ As I forgive myself, it becomes easier to forgive others.

~ I forgive myself for not being perfect.

~ I am living the very best way I know how.

~ It is safe for me to release all my childhood traumas and move into LOVE.

~ I forgive everyone in my past for all perceived wrongs.

~ I release them with love.

~ All of the changes in life that lie before me are positive ones, and

I am SAFE.

YOU HAVE A CHOICE. You can choose to stay stuck and bitter or you can do yourself a favor by willingly forgiving the past. Let it go and then move on to creating a joyous fulfilling life. You have the freedom to make your life anything you want it to be because you have FREEDOM OF CHOICE.

As I was reading this bullet point in Dalai Lama’s 18 rules of Life, I couldn’t help think about the difference between ‘your love for each other exceeds your need for each other’.

Contemplating on this point brings into focus that True love begins with the discovery of self love. Love of self almost implies selfishness but really we are not talking about our love for our self identity or the ego self. When we identify our existence as an entity with a form, name and situation then we are constantly looking for validation from others. True Self Love begins with the realization that my true existence is not dependent on anything external to me, because I AM EXISTENCE itself. On exploring this Self through the path of enquiry as to who I AM, we can realize that we are Consciousness & Energy full of knowledge, love and joy. The very fact that you exist makes you loveable. Love is your birthright and the fountain of love is within you. You need not go beg anybody for love. You don’t have to feel the need for love from some one.

So what is this ‘need for each other’? It is a love based on ‘conditional love’. I love you because you make me happy, you make me smile, you buy me gifts, etc. etc.That is a “need based love” to put it very simply. Love that is unconditional is non dependent; it just is – it is a feeling of contentment that comes from loving who you are.

Essentially we humans are social beings. We like drama, and are born to realize our dreams. But only those who are tired of the drama and the never ending dreams that are waiting to be realized, can embark on the path of enquiry. That identification with your true Self through Cosmic Consciousness gives you the real freedom to love yourself for who you are and love others as well for who they are.

~ Meditations To Heal Your Life By Louise L. Hay ~

Last year I attended a workshop on “Heal Your Life” based on the teachings of Louise L. Hay. The teachings resonated very well for me because I am all for love.For a long time I thought loving others was more important but when I had my spiritual experience the first thing I realized was that we treat others the way we treat ourselves. If we are too critical of ourselves we will be too critical of others as well. Perhaps in trying to efface my ego I was giving more importance to others and was never kind to myself. It was only when I felt that oneness with the Universal Consciousness I felt the unconditional love for all beings in whom the same Consciousness radiated.

In Brihadaranyaka Upanishad, there is an interesting and famous  conversation between the wise sage Yajnavalkya and his wife Maitreyi where in Maitreyi asks him if she can get immortality through wealth. He says no and then she asks, “what is the use of the wealth, if it does not give me immortality? What is this love for wealth for?”

And then Yajnavalkya says, “Nobody loves anything for its own sake. All love is for the love of the Self, in the pure spiritual sense.” We love other things and others because it gives us pleasure and therefore, we love ourselves more than anything else. And we are nothing but a part of that Universal Consciousness that is like a sea of Consciousness.

So I do believe that everything starts with the love of Self and it is healing.
